3/4 + 1/2 x (2/3 - 1)
= 3/4 + 1/2 x [2/3 - (1 x 3) / (1 x 3)]
= 3/4 + 1/2 x (2/3 - 3/3)
= 3/4 + 1/2 x (- 1/3)
= 3/4 - 1/6
= (3 x 3) / (4 x 3) - (1 x 2) / (6 x 2)
= 9/12 - 2/12
= 7/12.
